Annette Edgar graduated in1980 from Glasgow School of Art where her tutors included Donaldson, Shanks, Rae and Moffat.

Painting full time from 1990 she has won many accolades and prizes including winner McRoberts Prize 1996; short listed JD Fergusson Travel Award 2000; Mary Armour Award, Paisley Art Institute 2006.

She has been an invited artist to ‘Painting in Scotland’ Glasgow Print Studio 2000; ‘Celebration of Art’ Maclaurin Gallery Ayr 2006 and ‘Discerning Eye’ Mall Galleries London 2007.

Annette is a professional member of the Royal Glasgow Institute; Scottish Society of Artists; and Visual Arts Scotland where she frequently exhibits as well as with the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours and Royal Society of Artists.

Her works are held in many corporate, public and private collections both nationally and internationally. A small selection of these include the
Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Edinburgh; Strathclyde University, Glasgow; Herriot Watt University, Edinburgh; RBS, Gyle Edinburgh; East Lothian District Council, Edinburgh; Prior’s Court School, Oxfordshire.

Annette is a vigorous painter who is equally at home with either large vibrant abstracts or lyrical colourful landscapes. She is a fine colourist who brings structure and poetic vision to all of her works. Jack MacLean of the Herald said this of Annette, “Every new show brings even greater depth of colour and greater compositional structure.”
