A Scottish Odyssey in Blue by David Smith RSW: Oct 28 - Nov 21
We are delighted to be exhibiting our 7th Solo show For David Smith RSW. David understands the coast and islands of Scotland like few others. Many years of hill walking, mountaineering and rock climbing have instilled a clear sense of the terrain and skies, which is recreated in his paintings. His distinctive landscapes have become widely collected, and he was elected RSW in 2011. ‘Blue, Turquoise and Green are the primary colours that make up the palette for this exhibition of new Scottish paintings. They are the colours of the landscape which I tried to capture between plein air painting and working on my sketches. The Sketchbooks for this exhibition are visual diaries of my travels and thoughts around the seaboard of Scotland, from the Firth of Clyde to Glen Elg in the West Highlands, the Hebrides to the Moray coast in the North East and down to the East Neuk of Fife.’ Come and meet the artist at Lime Tree Gallery on Saturday 28th October.
