Amanda Phillips was born in 1963 and studied art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee. She was top of her year then dropped out to become an architect at Dundee University, gaining a 1st class Honours degree. She was joint top student winning a travel scholarship to the USA. She worked as a chartered architect, taught at Edinburgh Napier University in many design disciplines, and then at Edinburgh College of Art where she was the first tutor to teach in both the Schools of Design and Fine Art. She is now a full time artist, exhibiting in galleries throughout Scotland. Lime Tree Gallery is the only gallery to represent Amanda in England.
