Charles Jamieson was born in 1952. He studied art at the Glasgow School of Art from 1969 to 1974. This was followed by further studies at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.

Charles is the Former Chairman of the Aspect Prize and Past President of the Paisley Art Institute.

His paintings are very distinctive, intelligent compositions with a particularly crisp use of colour, light and shade. Charles travels widely, capturing the essence of his locations in his pared back landscapes, usually sunny and often taking an unexpected theme. Diverse in subject matter, Charles is also a fine painter of Still Life and Architectural subjects.
