Estelle was born in Switzerland and studied for five years and graduated at the University of Lucerne in Arts and Design. She moved to Italy, where she studied painting at the Art Academy of Bologna. She now lives on the coast of South England.

Artist's Statement

After working intensely with sculpture, multimedia and installation, I began a few years ago to discover my love for still lives. Painting a picture which doesn't have to be anything else than beautiful. At its best creating a kind of inspiring, wondering or calming atmosphere...how liberating! Nowadays such a thing seems almost to be an anachronism, – nevertheless it possibly reflects a yearning of many hearts...

My move to the coast of South England brought me to new inspirations. The subtle colors, the sensitive light and the beauty and fragility of the found objects on my walks along the beaches let me create another form of celebration – pure simplicity: Beach Pictures.
