Phil Johns studied Illustration/Graphic Design at Southend Art School and completed an MA in Fine Art at Canterbury Christ Church University.
He was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2002.
Phil Johns has been a practising artist for more than thirty years. He has exhibited extensively in both the UK and USA. His work features in numerous public and private collections and has been published by Rosenstiel’s Widow & Son and Medici.
Publications include the BBC, The Times, Country Life, House & Garden, The Artist and Vogue. His work has featured in television productions and he has contributed to BBC radio programmes.
In recent years his study has been influenced by an expansive and varied range of modernist painters which include Matisse, Rothko, Diebenkorn, Heron and Frost - all of which mastered the expressive language of colour.
