14 September - 12 OctoberSian McGill’s uplifting paintings have delighted visitors to our galleries, at art fairs and online, for some years now. For many people, they evoke happy memories of a special place or a family holiday. Others are simply drawn to the sheer energy, colour, and spirit of the works. This thrilling solo exhibition of some forty paintings looks beyond the sea across a wide span of dramatic locations. Sian captures the beauty of her native Wales, from the coasts of the Gower, Pembrokeshire, Anglesey and the Llŷn Peninsular. In contrast, she evokes the majesty of the mountains in the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia. Cornwall is strongly represented in the exhibition, which features many of Sian’s favourite haunts, such as the Bedruthan Steps, Trebarwith Strand, Godrevy, Kynance Cove, Port Isaac and Penwith. Sian also looks beyond the sea in Scotland, painting the beautiful Isles of Mull, Harris and Barra. The exhibition even looks beyond Great Britain to the majestic Dingle Peninsula, on Ireland’s southwest Atlantic coast. This is the first time that Lime Tree Gallery has represented Sian in a solo exhibition. It’s a perfect opportunity to see a sought-after artist at the peak of her powers.
