We are delighted to announce a Solo Exhibition opening in our Bristol gallery on September 17th 2020 by Zanna Wilson, a very accomplished landscape artist based in rural Scotland.
We have been proud to exhibit Zanna's dynamic paintings since 2008, having met Zanna in her studio in Leith, Edinburgh. At the time, much of Zanna's work was painted with beeswax. Over the years she has expanded her range of media to include watercolour, often vigorous, yet showing a delicacy of touch.
Zanna now lives and works in Highland Perthshire and her paintings are inspired by the dramatic changes in light across rugged land and seascapes. This exciting new body of work is bold and expansive and demonstrates Zanna's love of Scotland's special light and changing atmosphere.
"Working with the tides; surrendering to the sea. A period of crashing waves and noisy seascapes full of energetic flow has given way to calmer, emptier more mesmeric coastal scenes as I slow down. My painting work is literally mimicking the ebb and flow of the tidal paint around me".
